Dorian Blues (free to youth under 21*)

Angst is the main course for Dorian, a cute, somewhat awkward teenager going through his senior year of high school hell, while beginning to explore his sexuality. Figuring out you are gay is one thing. But everything’s a bit more complicated when you have to compete with a popular, football-jock as your brother. Add an emotionally unavailable mother, and, worst of all, a fervently conservative father, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Dorian’s journey to self-discovery introduces him to an unusual cast of characters—a gay sci-fi geek, a drunken counselor, and a swing-dancing stripper who sounds like Billie Holiday. No one said coming out of the closet was easy. Even escaping to New York does not end his problems. Dorian discovers a new world, but first love and heartbreak can be just as frustrating and treacherous as life was back home. Will Dorian find personal happiness? Do you even need to ask?

Dorian Blues is a funny, quirky comedy that adds freshness to the tale of coming of age. Blending heartbreaking warmth with biting wit, Dorian Blues is immensely entertaining and will definitely be the comedy hit of the festival.
