This fourth edition of Reel Pride Michigan is further proof of the myriad and diverse selection of GLBT film offerings. We are proud to present such a rich schedule of films for your pleasure, your thoughtful consideration, your enrichment and maybe even to provoke. Triangle Foundation's relentless political and policy activism, and the services that we have been providing to individuals in need over the last fourteen years have changed the landscape and dialog about GLBT people in Michigan in countless positive ways. Our important cultural presentations, with Reel Pride as a flagship, are critical components of that activism. Your support of the Festival helps make the daily work of seeking equality and fairness more effective. In the relatively recent past it was almost impossible to find gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender people portrayed in films, at the movies. And when they were, they were not very flattering characters. Oh, there were the rare exceptions and the less-than-mainstream offerings, but generally it's been a long road to our current era of big name box office stars playing leading roles in gay affirming pictures, movies that are big theatrical releases that normalize and even celebrate GLBT people, their lives, loves and aspirations.
